10 Startups That Will Change The Robot Vacuum Mop Pet Hair Industry For The Better

The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

For pets with shedding fur, a robot vacuum/mop combo is among the best floor cleaning options. It can mop and vacuum, and even clean and dry its own dual mop pads.

It also has 8,000Pa suction which is the highest of any robot we've examined. It also can save maps of your home and schedule cleaning schedules using its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is the latest model in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum-mop robots. This model is dry and wet. It includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which gives improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. The system is equipped with dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to the one used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan an area that is up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping as well as faster response time and better cleaning accuracy.

It also has a rotating mopping mat made of chenille, which makes it easier to scrub hard areas than traditional mop. During my tests it was able to clean the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and then got to work. I noticed that it was more precise than other models which seemed to follow the grid of rooms. It was able navigate corners and edges of my rooms, and also make "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the dustbin and clean the mop with hot water before starting another task of cleaning.

Like other Ecovacs products The X2 Omni is easy to set up and start using. It takes just minutes to secure the dock into its place, plug it into, and pair with your home Wi-Fi network. You can then open the app to start your first cleaning project. I was able to modify my floor plan within 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for sweeping and mopping as well as rearranging the positioning of furniture that is mounted on walls and much more. The X2 Omni performed admirably during my tests. It scored well in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and also achieved near-perfect results in edge and crevices cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The T10 Omni from ECOVACS is an extremely powerful vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most advanced of the brand's T-line, and features a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system which uses dual-spinning brushes for superior cleaning over traditional oscillating scrubbers. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing technology that can respond to a range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to design your home, create cleaning schedules and adjust settings.

The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it's unable to switch between mopping and vacuuming in one run. The two modes require you attach and remove the mop heads as needed and is suitable for most homes but not an ideal choice for those with busy lifestyles.

The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It was able to remove more than 96% of the particles we threw at it on our hardwood flooring, which is an outstanding performance. It was a success on tiles and carpets and removed 99percent of dirt.

This robot mop and vacuum comes with large docking stations that offers cool water auto-cleaning for its mop pads, automatic emptying into a 3L disposable bag that is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be washed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.

The Deebot T10 features a wash tray that is built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to wash and dry its mop pads when it is using them. It does not have a tray that can be removed, which means that dust, dirt and other grime will slowly build up on the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

This is the first model of mopping from Anker, which is known for its robot vacuums. It comes with upgraded smarts, multiple maps support, and LIDAR scanning, in addition to twin turbine suction technology that adjusts to the floor you're cleaning. It's a tempting mid-range vacuum cleaner although it can't exactly live up to its promise of being the ultimate source for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with sweeper wheels and a raised sensor area. On the other hand you'll find a motorized floorbrush and one side brush that moves dust away from the edges and into the main path of its' mouth.' It's smaller than the main brushes on the competing iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to fit under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system allows you to define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. It has a tendency of hitting objects such as its charging station, and isn't very good at navigating over carpets. It was great at getting pet hair off of bare floors. In our tests it picked up 89.5 percent of cat litter.

The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, however it also has physical buttons at its base. These buttons let you choose a cleaning mode or turn off the robot. Additionally, you can use these to set no-go zones and see maps in real-time. It's also a little chatty and will tell what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or notify you when something isn't right.

4. ILIFE A4s

recommended  is high-tech and sucks up pet hair, kibble, and other debris with top-notch performance and is able to effortlessly maneuver around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes, a self-emptying dock, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. The Wi-Fi enabled device can be operated via the Neato App where cleaning schedules are set and maintenance requirements are monitored. The X2 Omni is a great option for homes with large spaces with a mix of hard and carpet floors. However, it will need some planning in advance to avoid getting entangled with toys, power cables, or other unintentional obstructions.

This robot did well in our tests of hardwood floors and food particles. It was able to pick up everything from a single rice grain to multiple dog food pieces with only one sweep. It had a bit of difficulties transitioning to rugs but in general this vacuum cleaner is great for rooms that have flooring of all kinds and a mix of pets.

It's not cheap, but if you can afford it, it's a great purchase for those who wish to leave their home completely free to perform other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that increases suction to take on difficult dirt or spills. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to define the boundaries of the robot.

This budget-friendly robot from a popular new brand is the cheapest we've tested and provides an outstanding value for the money. Its navigation system is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm, and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This is why it's less effective than other models in this list. However it's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners, and its mopping mode performed well in our testing, picking up stray pet hair and other debris effortlessly.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not appear as sturdy, but it is better in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning carpets with low piles and floors that are not covered. It also uses smart-pathing navigational software for greater maneuverability. It can be sent to a specific location, and includes a variety of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you stop and restart cleaning sessions, so it's perfect for homes with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent tangles with pet hair and other debris, and its bagless self-emptying dock station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt before needing to be empty. It comes with of angled side brushes that can reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system to capture dust, allergens and dander.

This robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It is compatible with an app on your smartphone that lets you change the vacuum settings and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app lets you check the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications when it encounters any issues during a cleaning session. You can also control it using your voice with an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area by using physical boundary markers.

The iQ does a good job of clearing bare floors and does a decent job with shaggy and low-pile carpet however, it doesn't have the same degree of autonomy as our top choices. It's also expensive and its ongoing expenses can add up over time.
